Co-Director of Caparú project together with Dr. Sara Bennett until June, 1998.

Member, Species Survival Commission of IUCN/Primate Specialist Group since
1984.

Nov., 1996 - ongoing comparison of primate community diversity in a north-
south Amazonian transect of about 1000 km.

June, 1989 - 1996 Research project on behavioral ecology of primate Cacajao
melanocephalus (the black-headed uacari), with National Geographic Support
(originally planned duration 2-3 years but increased to increase data base.
(note: this activity was disrupted and notes burned by FARC guerillas, June 21-
22, 1998)

June, 1990-1992. Overflight and satellite image study of the state of the
Colombian Amazon forest cover.
